Direct marketing yields a ten-fold increase in enquiries

Hookway’s surveyors have expertise in the education sector. They really understand school buildings and how education is delivered within them; from simple maintenance to the delivery of new building they can help schools with their building maintenance.

Each year the government offers funding to help schools carry out necessary condition improvement on their buildings. Helping schools prepare and submit winning Condition Improvement Funding bid applications is one of the many services that they offer.

We have worked with Hookway for several years now, helping develop their brand, their website and ongoing marketing. The recent direct marketing campaign that we planned and implemented to help increase lead generation for this service has been an out-and-out success generating a 10-fold increase in number of qualified enquiries.

Partner Greg Smith who heads up the Building Surveying team said; “ie has worked hard to create and implement this very successful multi-channel campaign and we are quite frankly bowled over by the results. He said; "Over the past few years Suzi and her team have been helping us develop a cohesive marketing strategy to raise our business profile and help develop our business. It has been a successful partnership and we are looking forward to continuing to work with ie on future projects over the coming months.”

Warning - this website uses cookies

Since the implementation of GDPR you may have noticed an increase in cookie policy warnings on the websites that you visit. These pop up warnings were widely viewed as annoyoying and unecessary, and many organisations simply did not use them. Now however, GDPR regulations insist that websites tell visitors if their data is being gathered and processed through a cookie policy warning.

What is a website cookie?

A website cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored on the user's computer. They were designed to allow websites to remember useful information or record browsing activity. This can then be used to enhance the user's browsing experience, for example by making it easy to find pages that have previously been viewed, or keeping them logged in to a particular website account.

But cookies could also be seen as intrusive as they allow websites to gather information (pages viewed, time spent on a page, frequently bought items or buttons clicked) which can be used to build up an anonymous profile of a user - which could in turn be used for targeted advertising. This is why GDPR insist on websites having a cookie policy warning.

Example of cookie policy warning at top of page.

What is a cookie policy warning?

A cookie policy warning displays on the page when a user first accesses a website to warn them that the site uses cookies. Once the warning pop up has been closed (i.e. terms agreed) it will not appear again for that user on that browser, unless they clear their cookies or go 'incognito'.

Pretty much all websites use cookies, so should have a cookies policy warning in place. Prior to GDPR many companies did not - hence the huge increase in them appearing since the regulations have been implemented.

We are now recommending that all our clients have a cookie policy warning on their website in order to be GDPR compliant. For more information please call 0117 907 9930 or email your enquiry and a member of our team will get back to you.

Undergoing ie’s Discovery Process helped us to focus on who are core clients are and what their specific needs are. As a result we have tailored the website specifically for this market by identifying common themes and seen a substantial rise in internet enquiries
