Are you ready for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

The introduction of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May will have many implications, not least for marketing. There are a number of areas relating to data capture, transfer, storage and use where we are helping our clients conform to the new regulations.

Supporting consent-based marketing

As you probably already know, after May 25th you will only be able to market to people who have consented to receive information from you, and a record of consent must be kept. We are helping clients with data cleaning and their ongoing “stay connected” email campaigns.

Encouraging people to opt in to future communications

We expect conforming to GDPR will result in significantly reduced prospect contact lists. To help address this and to ensure that our clients are engaging with people who do want to hear from them, we have been exploring ways of capturing people’s details for future marketing in-line with GDPR via lead generation software.

Ensuring secure data collection and transfer

We are recommending that clients also add an SSL certificate if their website includes an online enquiry form. Having a security certificate is becoming accepted practice; it’s good for SEO as Google uses it as a ranking factor.

Plus, we now have an area on our website to allow data to be securely transferred between us and our clients.

Updating contact forms on your website

Existing data capture forms on websites must be updated to give people the option to agree to be sent information. As our licenced content management system Kentico is renowned as being one of the most secure systems on the market so any data collected through it is securely stored.

Updating the Privacy Policy on your website

Privacy policies must be updated to reassure website visitors that any personal data that is collected will be securely managed and stored, only used in line with consent permissions, and will not be shared with any third party.

Ensuring ‘Right to be Forgotten’

Finally, we have put a process in place to ensure that if someone wishes to be removed from our client’s database that this is carried out.

In short, we are doing all we can to support our clients and help them achieve secure online data capture, transfer, storage and use.

If you have any questions surrounding GDPR, please do not hesitate to find out how ie marketing could help you conform.

ie helps ACQSYS exceed expectations within the first 6 months

ACQSYS is the concept of Bill Howie, who set up this unique asset management business in 2011 to provide a recovery service for manufacturers, distributors and retailers who deliver products in re-usable transit equipment.

It’s estimated that over £200 million is lost each year through misplaced or stolen transit equipment. ACQSYS reduces these losses by recovering the missing equipment and preventing further theft and misappropriation.

How did i.e. support ACQSYS?
The concept behind the business is unusual and the work that we undertook was heavily focused on capturing the essence of the offer and delivering striking and forceful graphics which supported clear and concise messaging. i.e. delivered the design and build of a new website for ACQSYS and worked closely with social media expert Kathryn Bullock of Face Marketing to deliver the social elements of their marketing. i.e. also delivered design for corporate stationery, a direct mail leaflet, an email template and a Facebook page header.

The results
Six months on from launching the website, ACQSYS are exceeding expectations and are extremely pleased with the progress of the business. The marketing communications delivered by i.e. have played a significant part in this success. Bill Howie commented, “We could not have achieved this success without an effective website.” Kathryn Bullock added, “It is always a pleasure to work with the i.e. team as they deliver on time and to budget and really take the time to fully understand the brief and the business.”

Bill further comments, “i.e. was asked to produce a website from scratch, with no prior experience in our sector or understanding of the market we were addressing. They very quickly understood what we needed and delivered a great product on time. I would recommend Suzi and the team without hesitation.”

ACQSYS is just one of the businesses benefiting from our Intelligent approach to marketing. If you’d like to know more about how it could benefit your business then please give us a call on 0117 9079930.

The bottom line is the phone rings every day and we don't sit around wondering where our next contract is coming from - proof positive that what ie is doing works.
