Helping to reposition Hookway Chartered Surveyors

The Starting Point

Hookway is a long established Bristol-based Chartered Surveying practice. It's team of expert surveyors has built an enviable reputation for the work that they do within the education sector, ensuring a steady stream of business from schools and colleges.

However this was not the only type of surveying work that Hookway can do. Their surveyors have been involved in a wide variety of other types of project including commercial, residential and 
industrial property development, historic building conversions and public and leisure projects. Despite this they were finding that almost all new business enquiries were related to the education sector.


The directors approached ie to help address this situation.    

The Intelligent Approach

ie spent time finding out about Hookway; how they work, why clients use them and the real benefits that their services deliver. We also researched the market, including key competitors, to see what we needed to do to 'reposition' Hookway and help attract enquiries from a broader range of sectors.   

The insights that we gained informed our strategy and plan the work required to help Hookway's directors achieve their goals for the business. It also informed the structure and content of their new website - a key element of their ongoing marketing.

Our work included rebranding the company and developing a new brand look and feel that was then implemented throughout their sales and marketing collateral, including literature, email and advertsing. 

The Results

Hookway's fresh new brand and newly designed marketing communications have generated very positive feedback both from clients and staff. Visitors to their new website are quickly made aware of the comprehensive range of surveying services that they offer as well as the different sectors that they work with. Images showcase projects that the team has worked on, while case studies help to demonstrate the variety and quality of their work.

Increasing the footprint of the website (by 150%) has vastly improved Hookway's online presence. In the first six months we have;  


•       Doubled traffic to the site
•       Quadrupled page impressions
•       Increased organic site traffic by 50%

•       Doubled time on site 

We are now looking forward to working with Hookway to support their ongoing marketing in 2017.
